Hi all. 1 of my chickens got attacked by a hawk. I have nursing her back to health & her wound is almost gone. It is very small & healing nicely. With that, we have her in a kennel in our house (which has been quite interesting & at times, very noisy lol) I spend time with her often throughout the day & I have been noticing that her comb is becoming light pink. I have read before that when they are sick or have mites or something, it turns pale pink. So this worries me. She acts normal & is eating & making noise ( & a mess lol) all day. She wasn't a egg layer before this injury, but she has since laid 3 eggs. Not very often. Shes been in the house since Feb 1st, when this injury occurred & has only laid 3. I am assuming that is due to the less light hours ?? Not sure. But what really worries me is the pale comb. I can use all the help I can get at this point. Please let me know what you think. I appreciate it =)

Can you post pictures of her? Is she eating, drinking and pooping normally? What is she eating?

Ya, she is acting normal. The only difference I have noticed, besides the comb, is that the last couple days, every so often, she makes a new lil noise, kinda like a cherp.

Do you think the chirp is a sneeze? Some of my flock were sneezing and one of my girls got a pale comb too but continued to lay. She is otherwise fine.
I'm inclined to say your girl should be okay.
Is she ready to start re-introduction into the flock?

I was wondering if it could be a sneeze as well. Should I be concerned if it's a cold?
& she's not quite ready to be reintroduced. She's not all healed yet. Plus we live in Oregon & it is much colder now versus when her injury hapened.
