Support Group for Abused Duck Keepers

I wish we had more snow here! Of course we are more north now so we've had snow but it never settles on the ground. I do NOT want the amount of snow you get, but a little would be fun for the ducks
Mine don’t come out in snow
They stay in the outdoor room and coop
Avoid snow at all times 😂
Even my one emu will stand at her door and hiss and get her heck all big at the white stuff on the ground
Divas I tell you

Mine have actually forgiven me since the snow and ice has melted away but I am sure if we get any over the weekend like predicted, they will be back cussing me out in their duck language since it will of course be my fault. Good thing we can't interpret what they are actually saying

This has probably been posted here before, but in case anyone comes across this book:

Everyone’s laying, the ducks, the geese, even some of the quail.
As usual the drakes are on high alert for egg thieving and viciously defending those precious eggies from being stolen by me, except it’s pretty much the goose eggs that the drakes are protecting, not the duck eggs, they barely care about the duck eggs. I can’t even get near a goose nest without Truffle and Sunbeam hanging off of me and if I dare try to reach for an egg it’s an all out brawl.

I guess the larger size makes them of higher value and priority to the drakes? Do they think there are magical giant ducklings in them?

It's that time of year again, I need to replace the ducks grass areas (currently mud.....) and remake a new pond area for them. Their winter pond broke while it was in storage during a freeze so I've ordered a temporary paddle pool for them while I rethink a permanent solution. Does anyone have any ideas for soft ground around the pond? If I put grass around it they'll just make a swamp, but currently it's rubber mats and that's not the most comfortable for them to lie on. Am I being dense or is there no solution that's going to be able to be cleanable and durable? I think they'd try and eat fake grass....

I can't wait to get their pen all nice and deep cleaned for spring/summer. It always falls into a muddy mucky ruin during the winter :sick

Artificial grass?

Thanks to this thread for the laugh today!
Although I don’t own ducks, a good part of a very expensive, week-long vacation was once spent appeasing local ducks with duck-acceptable food from the hotel buffet. As these ducks quickly managed to become the lasting highlight of an overseas trip (which included the necessity of acquiring a passport), it is clearly an instance of being taken advantage of by international ducks.
