I’ve hatched quite a few chicks from the same roo to different females, but this is the first time that I’ve gotten a pink-skinned silkie EE over Silkie EE. I’ve had some that do not have an extra toe but this one doesn’t have one in addition to light skin. Thought I’d share! I have no idea what this means but it’s doing well. The siblings are hatching with a few others looking to have pink skin and a couple others with dark skin.

For a pure silkie, they have five toes, black skin, and feathers are either smooth (satin) silkie (fluffy) or frizzle. Anytime you mix breed them, they no longer are a true silkie but who cares if you just want the mix. :)

Yes, they were mixes to begin with. This is the first time I’ve seen them with pink skin. The mama only has four toes and most of the chicks have 5 like the rooster. They are cute regardless! It looks like they are feathering Silked. I guess we’ll see!
