she is totally chill on the leash, she is a very chill bird.. she has TONS of tiny rocks on the ground, and a oystershell station... also I throw grass in their pen every day (many times a day) and she is uninterested, I have also just let her walk in the yard supervised not on a leash, she is just Very picky.Does she have grit available? Without it, she can't manage anything except chicken feed. And, is she upset/ stressed by that leash? She might behave more normally without it out there.

hey! my 5 year old polish hen (only one laying at the moment) lays pale yokes... Why? I always thought that ment an egg was old, but I collect them every day!
I try to feed her grasses and clovers all the time, I don't know why she won't eat them...

Thanks! That is normal for most 5 year old hens. Just like in human men and women, as we age the quality of our semen and ovum declines. It is a normal part of the aging process.
Are the rest of you flock with deeper yellow yolks also polish?
When i had polish chickens i noticed they really cant see very well, and would miss out on the treets i would throw out simply because they could not see them.
Once my husband bought a large bag of carrots in the fall to use for deer hunting and didnt end up using them so i fed them to the chickens.
It took like 2 months feeding about 2 carrots a day. And wow my yolks were just as orange as the carrots at the end.
