Two of my 4 hens started laying about a month ago. The shells are hardy but the yolks are pale. They are getting Scratch & Peck Organic layer and starter (as 2 more hens are still not yet laying and I have two bags to finish off). Nonetheless, I'm wondering about what I might need to supplement to help get those eggs nice and rich with yellow-orange coloring. I am aware of omega-3 but worry about when they start tasting fishy.

Thanks in advance for your wisdom!

Get them some layer booster... it’s a supplement you mix right into their water. It has marigold extract in it.

Do you feed them their dark leafy greens? Like kale, collards and turnip greens.
They get their color from veggies. You can use pumpkin too.
You can also feed them marigolds. Thats added into many chicken feeds to get the oranger yolk.
X2

Free ranging hens usually have darker yolks, too.
