Pallet Coop - The Beginning

This is what I have been working on. So far all free except screws and metal roof. 6x8 foot print. I also thought about using whole pallets but thought it was better to use them as siding. You certainly have enough. I think I had about 25 pallets total. All I need to do now is add the hoop run off the front

Wow brains! That looks fantastic! I hope mine turns out as well. I have it all planned out in my head but I have really never built something so big. Fingers crossed!

This may be a silly question to some but where do you get the free pallets? I love your coop!

My husband got them from his work. He works in the shipping department of his company and they just pile them out back for anyone to take. You can check classifieds, sometimes they are posted there. Look around larger companies and stores that have things shipped in. Sometimes you will see them piled up behind the building. Just be sure to ask if they are willing to give them away. Some companies actually have to pay for the pallets and are charged per pallet. Some companies have an over abundance and are happy to give them away.

I got some really nice ones from a tractor dealer. They were happy to have me take them. Also I know a guy who works at Home Depot.
I usually start with a drawing and then build from there. The only real plans are in my head
Also check Craig's list. I found an old tree house/fort that gave me a ton of wood

Started on the subfloor yesterday. So happy to finally see a structure coming together.

Omg got 100 ft of 1/2" hardware wire for half price and an unending supply of pallets as I need them yesterday. Working on my coop as we speak. So excited!

Three posts of six needed done.

Gonna start stripping the little side part down and building it back for the coop. More pics to come.
