Hi there,

Just curious. What generation are the sizzles. What I mean is, are these first generation silkies crossed with bantam cochins?? What colors? I posted a while back about what you would call the silkie/cochin crosses and wasn't told they were sizzles. Glad to hear otherwise. I love them.

Thanks

Yeah sizzles are a project bird and you start with a frizzled cochin and a silkie, the main goal for sizzles are to have all the characteristics of the silkie, (dark skin, comb, 5 toes, crest) but the feathers of the cochin either frizzled or smooth. I keep smooth hens with frizzled roos and vice versa. So you will get a chance of smooth or frizzled mine are 3rd generation and every now and then you will get one with a single comb.

Ok I think I got it. So you are breeding sizzle to sizzle now right? So actually a sizzle is a frizzled cochin and silkie cross. I just have the silkie crossed with a cochin. I think they are adorable. I've since bred the F1's to each other and did get one with the silkie feathering which I was told I wouldn't get unless I bred it back to a silkie?????
Anyway do you have pictures of the sizzles?? Oh and what color are they??

I had a bad experience with Priority and being it is the holiday season, I do not want to chance a repeat.

Hey pampered, just to let you know all 8 of those sizzle eggs are still going strong! Should hatch the 21st!
Edited for spelling.

How many Barred Bantam Wyandottes did you end up with to breed ? I finnally got a LF Barred Wyandott roo and some White hens so I will be working on breeding LF Barred Wyandottes and I know of a guy that has them in bantams too and I hope to get some from him in the spring and may try to snag a few from you too.

OK Great so do you think you would eventually be able to do an order of maybe 6+ of just the bantam Wyandottes ?
