It should to even be able to join the k-9 department you have to be active duty for at least 2 years and you also have to have at least two years of college but I feel being able to help the dog better and what not will help me a lot to get into being a k-9.

Yeah I know most people don’t but I find it extremely important to have multiple plans for your future so if one fails you always have another and I like to live a crazy life so being able to do all these different things will be awesome but again these are not set in stone plans these are just what I want to do my life could always change. I kinda also gotta fuel my car and poultry addiction somehow

They just want to make sure they have the best of the best on the team and taking care of the dogs also hoping the k-9 department means you get a free dog that all I’m doing it for jk i love dogs and police the good ones always i might be crazy but one of my favorite thing to watch on YouTube is body cam footage

Lol! I think you do get to keep the dog its whole life unless you stop working in the K9 unit.
I've heard of people getting dogs that weren't obedient enough to work in the K9 unit...

Yes you keep the dog it’s whole life if you choose of not once it retires it will go to a loving family but if you decide to you keep the dog when you retire or it retires.
