Oatmeal on steroids!

These pics are taken just now from last nights batch…

Start by Pour ~2tbsp to bottom of the pot. Choose either of just cinnamon or the “pumpkin pie spice mix” which I used the last 2 nights.

2nd ~2/3-1 cup oatmeal flakes (currently it’s the large oats)

3rd a couple hand fills of raisins

4th spray water over it all until it all completely soaked and covered in water. (It’s all eyeballing it here folks.)

5th turn on cooktop at high stirring routinely until it starts to actually bubble thru… stir it 1 more time then turn off the heat and keep lid on it.

Come back 1 or 2 more times before bed to heat it on 5-7 (my dial goes up to “10” which is *H*) and bring it to a few bubbles again. Stirring enough to keep it from accidentally sticking to floor of pot. Once it’s started the bubbles again. Stir one more time after turning off the power. Do a few other things. Keep lid on it.

It sits on cooktop overnight.

In AM I gently stir it up with a light spray of water into it and turn on the burner to 4-5 and still often! This is usually about 5 minutes time.

Power off and it’s ready.

In bottom of bowl I put a nice thick slice or two or three of butter and the obligatory brown sugar. Pour it over them to melt and then start stirring it up to eat.

This batch has:
a) an entire small Fuji apple chopped up
b) a couple of beeping teaspoons of pumpkin purée
c) a small hand full of craisins
these were also put in before the initial water last night.

I used to make "loaded oatmeal" much like this! Oats, CINNAMON!!!!, sliced ripe banana, and raisins.

Sub in craisins if you want.

Absolutely delicious!
Previous batch did indeed have Craisins as well in it… (I totally love the name you gave it)
