My Black Laced Red Wyandotte has always been the beauty of the flock and not so much known for her laying compared to the other three girls ( a Barred Rock and two Easter Eggers) but nevertheless we've been able to count on 3 or 4 eggs a week from her when it's laying season or she is not on vacation or whatever.... Lol. But this year (she's 2 years old) when the winter egg-laying break was over, she can't seem to get in the swing of things. So far she has laid one that was just yoke splattered all over the other girls' eggs, one that was a total softie and now three that have this very thin papery white shell that has been crushed by the time I discover it. Normally she lays very pretty light brown, almost pinkish eggs.... Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions? My other three are laying just fine and all of them seem perfectly healthy.

What are you feeding and are you providing Oyster Shells? Picture would be appreciated, love Laced Wyandottes.
When I've offered oyster shells before, no one seemed interested. I toss out there pellets daily verses providing a constant supply in a feeder because otherwise I'm also feeding the neighborhood flock of crows ... My girls love them some yogurt though lol

Eggs with papery-thin shells or "rubber eggs" as I call them, is a calcium deficiency. This means that the hen laying these eggs isn't getting enough calcium. I know you said they won't eat oyster shells. Have you ever tried feeding them their eggshells. I feed my chickens their eggshells and it helps them out a lot.
