Thanks in advance for any help this great community can offer.

1) What type of bird , age and weight (does the chicken seem or feel lighter or thinner than the others.)
2 year old, Rhode Island Red, no seeming change in weight
2) What is the behavior, exactly.
This morning she remained in the coop on a perch long after every other chicken left the area. Later in the day I found her on the far other side of the barn yard huddled behind a rain barrel. I brought her to the water (thinking she was hot) and dipped her beak in and she drank. I left her for a sec and came back to find her laying next to the water breathing but seemingly unable to move or stand herself up. I separated her from the flock and gave her food and water, but she's just been laying on her side.
3) How long has the bird been exhibiting symptoms?
Just today
4) Are other birds exhibiting the same symptoms?
No
5) Is there any bleeding, injury, broken bones or other sign of trauma.
No
6) What happened, if anything that you know of, that may have caused the situation.
No clue
7) What has the bird been eating and drinking, if at all.
Since I found her this afternoon, only when I've dipped her beak in the water
8) How does the poop look? Normal? Bloody? Runny? etc.
Haven't noticed
9) What has been the treatment you have administered so far?
None
10 ) What is your intent as far as treatment? For example, do you want to treat completely yourself, or do you need help in stabilizing the bird til you can get to a vet?
I'd like to be able to treat myself and/or determine whether to cull her sooner rather than later
11) If you have a picture of the wound or condition, please post it. It may help.
12) Describe the housing/bedding in use
Coop with straw bedding with 7 other chickens. 3 ducks and 2 rabbits also share the same barnyard space intermingled.

Thanks again for any help you can offer.

Dealing with almost the same thing.... Mine is a two year old roo who I found in the rain, and he is eating and drinking and pooping but won't stand up and just falls over and doesn't even try to get up. He can move is legs, and they will sometimes support his weight... I did notice that his knees seem a teeny bit swollen, maybe. I also am trying to figure out what to do with him. I was shocked when he made it though the night. Now it's been 3 days with no change. I won't pay for a vet, but I hate to cull him if he may recover... I have colleage that WAS a vet previously and she said (without seeing him) that it sounded like a slipped tendon which is fairly common and may or may not heal, or a B vitamin defincency... Guess I will try vitamins for a few days and see. I personally decided that by this weekend if there is no impovement that it's just mean to let him stay caged, so I will probably cull him then. Several threads on here though suggest 4-6 weeks for injuries or head trauma to go away which can produce paralysis symptoms... Keep in touch. Curios to see where this goes... My offical post on this is tittled - "info on slipped tendons?" if you'd like to read more... ;0) good luck - we are in this together - Paige

Sadly Paige, right after I posted this request I went out to check on her and found her dead

Best of luck to you and your roo.
