Is there any one spot on the forum that details: Pest/parasite + medication/treatments that fix it + retreat schedule + egg withdrawal time?

I feel like I'm just hit or miss. For instance, when I was dealing with scaly leg mite, I could see that you need to 1. suffocate/kill mites and 2. clean up to prevent reinfestation. I understand that there are different ways to achieve these points.

but, when it comes to something like worms, there are so many types if worms and not all of them respond to every product that is a 'dewormer'. What I'm looking for is something that would Name the product/treatment, tell me what it does (kills/deters) to what pest/parasite (kills pests that feed off the blood but not feed off the dead skin, etc). I understand, too, that some treatments lose effectiveness with overuse, but it would be great to have a chart for quick reference. Is there such a place? I just don't want to go broke buying products that then I learn don't do what I need done.

Wow, that would be a great asset to have... I don't know of anything like that here. You can search the forum for specific threads that mention specific ailments. The problem is, many times when a person has an issue, they have no idea what it is, hence they post in the emergency section for help first. The great folks here help them diagnose, and that's when the actual culprit becomes known. Then of course follows the treatment recommendations.

Sometimes the OP never comes back to let us know what the eventual outcome was either, so it's unclear/unknown if the solution was even the right one.

Check out a product called Wormal or Worm-All. I think that it is now manufactured in Mexico since some-of-those among us ran it's manufacturer out of the USA because I assume they feared that it is dangerous to worms. It comes as a tablet and you starve your fowl overnight, give each one a whole tablet, poked down the hatch with your index finger the first morning. Wait 24 hours then feed your fowl normally. I always made the first "normal" feeding stale white loaf bread soaked in buttermilk to which a little Epson salts was added. This will really work a chickens' bowels and clean him or her out for you real good.

Also if you are into old timey remedies, Organic food, Heritage Chicken Strains, Breeders instead of Hatcheries, etc. etc. etc. Wormal should be your cup of tea because I KNOW it has been employed to kill parasitic intestinal worms in gamefowl since about 1956.

No estimating the dosage, no worries that your fowl got the recommended dosage etc.

Now that we can use fenbendazole, intestinal parasite issues will be easier to manage. It's so true that people write in about 'worms' and don't actually have a diagnosis, which can only come by seeing the few that are big enough to see, or from a fecal exam by microscope.
'Wormall' has three chemicals listed, all of which aren't approved for use in chickens in the USA. And there certainly should be dose recommendations, not one size fits all!
Old timers fed tobacco too, as a wormer!

'Wormall' has three chemicals listed,
Got a link?
Quick search didn't find it, thought maybe it's still in your history.

It's so true that people write in about 'worms' and don't actually have a diagnosis,
Exactly!
Very few people actually get a fecal done, by a lab that will report species and numbers(and know what numbers are acceptable) so most info here is 'highly inaccurate'(to be incredibly diplomatic). Wives tales(modern and ancient) abound.

I'm planning on having a fecal float done, but life gets in the way and it didn't happen today. Plan to get a sample tomorrow and drop it at the vet's office. If I ever get my act together, I may start a spreadsheet and see if I can get something with links. Good intentions and all that..... It would be nice to have basic data all in one place, tho. I'll play around with that in my head for awhile first and then see where it goes. I'm so proud of folks like Castportpony who have backgrounds in medical/chemistry and are willing to share with those of us who don't.
