Parasite in duck eggs

on lockdown! Did a final candle to mark the air cells and now they're in, going to bump the humidity up a little slower than usual, for the sake of the younger egg, but still increasing it ready for the first pip....
Upon candling, both ducklings were moving and doing great, and in my inexperienced opinion I think I have an internal pip!
The beak is very clear and I cant see the membrane above it anymore, its in a slightly different spot to where I thought I first saw the beak, but was clearly there! I thought I may have heard some quiet sounds too, but I'm not certain.
Am hoping to hear some peeps or see an external pip soon

Great idea on the slow increase as it’s only needed high once they external pip and this helps to not jolt the other baby
I’m out with my daughter getting some groceries but once home I will be adding my day 25 egg to the lockdown
I’m so excited for us both
But having anxiety thinking about the egg while out shopping

oh my gosh same... Did some Christmas shopping earlier and I just couldnt stop thinking about my older egg and whether there was any peeping or anything Hoping for the best for your other egg going into lockdown!!

I got home and did my usual turn of the eggs and got ready to move day 25 over to the other incubator. I checked the other egg quickly and it’s breathing looked a bit weird not like before
No more chirping but can hear it tapping the shell. I decided to give it a safety hole as it’s so small I really worried. I just did a tiny one and up farther then the beak but down enough I wasn’t close to veins. I didn’t hit any thank goodness. Before doing this I turned the shower on hot and let the room get really humid so it wouldn’t dry out and cool down while helping. It’s now back in the incubator
Now when I whistle from outside the incubator the baby rocks the egg. Hopefully this gives it the air it needs to be strong enough to external pip. It’s been 24 since internal so another 24-48 hours baby should be out.

I have my fingers crossed for him to complete hatch
I think I heard a little chirp when I just went to check humidity, not letting myself get too excited incase it was something else, but it sounded like a peep!

I tried that! I get the slight rocking in reply, not peeping though- occassionally I hear something that sounds a bit like a peep, but not clear enough to be sure...

Sounds like your baby has also internally pipped
I’m going to play the mom and dad quacking and see if baby reacts to that. I have it recorded on my phone so I can play it to the baby

That's a great idea, it's nice that you can play sounds from their parents! I'm going to attempt to find some sounds on youtube and play it next to the incubator

I figured my voice isn’t exactly like a duck and my whistle is like a bird. I wanted it to know it’s a duck lol
