Parenthood Thread

I heard once of a wealthy family who had, for example, a French maid, an Austrian nanny, a Swedish housekeeper, a German tutor, a Danish chauffeur, an Italian cook, and an Irish stablemaster. The child grew up and went away to an expensive school and was amazed to discover that everyone spoke English. He thought everyone spoke their own unique language!

That is really cool to know! Our baby is 6 months old and we speak two languages in our home so she can be bilingual. It's crazy to think her little brain will soon already be distinguishing separate words in both languages!
That’s awesome! I speak Spanish, but not natively, but I’m trying to teach it to my kids anyway. It’s easy to forget to use Spanish but I’m working up to the one parent one language method. And yeah what I’m learning from this textbook is just how incredible the infant human brain is. They are just so amazingly good at observing and learning!!
