Supposedly his parent birds bit them off when he was hatched. He uses 2X4s as perches, and his cage has 1X1 inch squares instead of a regular barred cage. He is adjusted and a wonderful wonderful family member.

"What seems to be your problem?"

I LOVE IT!!!

I believe the African Gray is the best of all the talkers in the world. That's what I went shopping for, but settled for a double napped yellow head. I could never part with him now.

Zechariah is a Double Napped Yellow Head Amazon. He's lived all over the world. He actually says,

"Hello! I can talk, can you fly?"

AND many, many other things.

Zechariah is snuggling with Rainy:

Those U2 can be such sweet birds. I am sorry to hear that she has passed away. She was beautiful! I hope you adopt another one soon, I am sure there is one out there that needs you.

Double Yellow Head Amazon, 15 years old. Mr Higgin's to those that know him, limited vocabulary, but does say "Hello" if it will get him a peanut or animal cracker. "Rock and Roll" and "Railroad" are his other favorite words. Don't ask me why, as I don't know...he came with those words when he moved here 10 years ago.

This is Tutti, Blue Front Amazon. She is 8 years old and was hatched and raised here. Talks non-stop and has a huge vocabulary. Once it is dark in the living room she will talk for hours in a whisper. I always feel like she is telling me a bedtime story. This is sad, but a actually think this was a baby picture of her, but is one of the photos that I like the best of her, she a much heavier bird now and has a lot more blue on the front of her face.

And Tutti when she is in an evil mood! She isn't mean, but can give you the evil eye.

Bettie Blueberry. 9 years old female
Indian Ringneck.
Color Mutation: Turquoise

I got Bettie for my green male Indian Ringneck, Curry, six months after my Eclectus died of cancer. I let Curry pick her out at the parrot store. She was a year old when I got her and wild, but it was clear that she and Curry were destined to be partners whenever I set up their introductions before I bought her. It took a couple of years to get her completely tamed and now I can put her on her back in my hands and cradle her and tickle her feet. She talks very lightly and says things like, 'Buck Buck Buck Beeeyok!' And when I say kitty kitty kitty, she meows. She knows a lot of verbal commands to do tricks and when it's bed time, I just say, 'Night night.' and she climbs onto the lower cage door and leans over for a good night kiss. Curry does the same, but this is Bettie's show. Her favorite thing to do is chew boxes. I just say the word 'Box' and she gets excited, jumps on the box, gives me a thank you kiss and then the box is demonished in about an hour.

Look Ma, one hand!

He does just fine- for him. Sometimes I wish he had some toes to hang on, balance better- but then again, he can't miss what he has never had.

He learned how to cluck and sound like my illegal chickens- and does it so loudly that I had to tell my neighbors that,
"That's Dino- not the chickens..." lol.
