Partially unhatched chicken - What do do???

Several years ago I read a "formula" for supplements to water that is very easy because the ingredients are usually on hand, versus having to go and buy pedialyte, polyvisol etc. The formula is to add 1 tablespoon honey and 2 tablespoons ACV (with the mother in it) to 2 cups of water. Make this the water source for shipped chicks for the first 24 hours after their arrival, as in addition to re-hydrating, it gives them a boost to recover from the stress of shipping. After that you can switch to regular water. Although your chick was not shipped, it has had a pretty stressful arrival to the world so might be a good idea for him/her too. I've done this for any chicks I've received shipped and they always did great, though I realize that is not very scientific since I didn't have a control group drinking regular water at the same time

I am thinking of hatching some eggs and was wondering what you were referring to when you said to add honey and ACV to the water. What is ACV? Guess I still have lots to learn from you more seasoned chicken raisers. THANKS.

Thank you from a very uninformed newby. You all are so helpful to us who are first time raisers and learners and I greatly appreciate learning from the best. Thanks again!!

Thank you from another newbie too.

This is such a friendly, active, and knowledgeable forum, well the people in the forum :-)

I actually had some ACV with the mother in it. I've never seen it in the regular store but I got mine at the health food store.

The chick is still hobbling around. Doesn't seem to be able to stand yet on it's legs.

I made the water for it and it did drink. It doesn't seem to be eating of the chick food.

Oh and it's belly is looking quite nicely, covered with all fur now.
