These are a few of mine!

I have one partridge rooster so far, hoping to make partridge babies. Your rooster is stunning! Beautiful birds. Ummm.. do you ever sell hatching eggs? If... Um.. I mean WHEN I get a broody Silkie I would love to get some partridge eggs, that would speed up my "breeding" plans a bunch!

Oh, I did.. just last weekend.

However, I want to sand it down and re-paint the inside - Sportsman didn't do a good job of getting rid of the plywood grain on their older models - the red/brown paint is right over all those ridges - makes it a pain to clean out. So... I am going to sand it down - and repaint it. It has a very thick plexiglass door already "added" to it. I have a digital thermostat coming from eBay to put in to replace one of the wafer thermostats for better control. I just have to put a bucket with a barbed fitting at the bottom on the already installed water trays with float. Then buy two holding trays, some egg trays and a hatching tray - and then.. I might be in trouble.

It holds three "racks" of eggs, double deep.. and it won't get mad at the temperature changes like my old Hova-Bator does. I may even cover the outside with reflective insulation..

This will probably take me longer to finish that than your girls will to start laying again.. but I want it to be bulletproof. However, I am currently working on the Silkie Palace - and that will be done before next Wednesday (to get ahead of the rain). Once my girls get in there.. they might want to set. I have been getting two eggs every other day from two of them now and I just added two more...

I will watch here for when you have eggs you aren't going to set.. thanks.

When you do get ready to sell some I will come pick them up for ChickNmamma. She is my friend and I can always use an excuse to come to Fort Bragg!

Oh, I would get in sooo much trouble with an incubator like that!!!!!

I have a question. If I cross my BUFF SILKIE HEN and my PARTRIDGE COCHIN ROOSTER would I get a PARTRIDGE SILKIE?

No, you would get "dirty buff" unsilkied chicks .. but you could then cross the F! generation hens back to your rooster and get a few partridges - only they would not be silkies.

Go play with the genetics of colors here: http://kippenjungle.nl/kruising.html

Oh, and you can go find a few threads on Silkie Crosses here on BYC - there were some really neat ones!
