Partridge Silkies - Nothing else

They're sooo fluffy

I hatched out a couple of partridges from some eggs I bought and one came out white. Now, I know that this can happen if parents have recessive white in them. My question is this white bird had a greyish tinge showing partridge markings. And now that she is older the partridge markings do not show but her tail and her crest is a grey color and the rest of her is white. How does this happen and what is she?
I was thinking she is white and has silver instead of gold and that is showing up? Please have mercy on my suggestion. I was just thinking. LOL

No, you would get "dirty buff" unsilkied chicks .. but you could then cross the F! generation hens back to your rooster and get a few partridges - only they would not be silkies.

Go play with the genetics of colors here: http://kippenjungle.nl/kruising.html

Oh, and you can go find a few threads on Silkie Crosses here on BYC - there were some really neat ones!
Will the chicks be Cochins or what?

This is my first partridge. It is 4 months old. I was praying for a hen but he started to crow yesterday. I need help finding him a name. I haven't really taken the time to get some good pics but it should be easy enough because he is so gentle and lets me do anything with him. I think it is because he cant see very well with that rapidly growing crest. Is he good coloring for a partridge? He his a little brighter than what he is in the pic. He doesn't have any white or light undercoat. When I hatched him his egg was labled lavender. He is one of sundance's silkie babies.I wasn't surprized he was labled wrong because I know how those silly silkies are with eggs.I hatched 4 from sundance; 1 partridge, 1 paint, 1 splash, and 1 blue. ALL ARE ROOSTERS unless some miracle my hens are trying to crow. They sound so sad trying but I admit, it is adorable. Any advise or wisdom would be appreciated. Thanks!
