Partridge Silkies - Nothing else

Our two Silkie Partridge chicks -- the Gold/Blue Partridge is about 4-1/2 months and the Silvery/Blue Partridge is about 3-1/2 months now. The camera picked up gold reflection on the Silver Partridge that isn't there in real and the gold on the Gold/Blue Partridge is more brilliant in real. The sun through the tinted window altered the camera colors. We love these babies!

This is our 10-yr-old Partridge hen -- DH calls her the "tank" -- she's survived through 22 total various chicken breeds we've cycled through over the years She's learned over the years to push her face into other chickens' faces to get them to pluck her face feathers. Hope she teaches that method to the new Silkie chicks when they're introduced into the yard. She's learned that being able to see is better than having a full blinding crest/beard LOL!

Thanks. I really want a boy in that color but have only got girls so far.

They seem a little brighter on the feathers until they have full adult ones in. Or they just bleach out a bit in the sun.
Wow ! she is colorful that's why I thought rooster . If you had a rooster with that color make nice chicks .

She's in some of the other pictures as a full adult. So you can see they do change some.

Let me verify that you aren't talking about this one. He's the partridge rooster in the second picture. His black was better when he was younger. He had just gotten over a serious illness a week before I took this.

Good morning partridge silkie fans!
Just wanted some opinions on the coloring of this pretty girl. I picked her up as a three week old. I thought she was a silver partridge, but now as her adult feathers are coming in, I am not so sure. She is about three months old now.
She is mostly black now, but you can still see the partridge coloring in her wings and chest especially. 😊
Photos attached show her color change progression.

Looks cross colored to me. The hens I've had that were from blue or black rooster crossed to partridge hens have looked like that.

If it is, breeding by a partridge rooster will give partridge (or close) and the leaky black mixed chicks. I've used black to add some genetic diversity and try and improve the black parts on my roosters.

Now pictures don't always give best color indication. And screens compound that. If there isn't a brown cast, it's not regular partridge.

It is possible it could be a dark silver. Very dark does happen in partridge. I have one hen that looks almost black until you get her in good light and then it's obvious she's partridge.
