Actually my little guys name is Party Boy! LOL He sounds like one of those party horns that you blow on at new years(that is how he got his name).
Haha, it is funny how different they can sound.. my latest to crow sounds all grown up.. not like he is practicing like the others. Hope he doest get better and louder at it as he gets olderThat is so cute...we have a little Nankin rooster who sounds just like a plastic whistle. It is adorable unless you happen to be standing right next to him...then it's a bit ear piercing! LOL
This is one of my boys at different ages...FeatherSprings those boys are drool worthy!!!How can you chose???![]()
FeatheredFriend your dark avatar boy is the same one that matches my dark girl right??? (both CatDance)
How closely colored were you guys newborn chicks to the grown or nearly grown silkies now? Do you have any pictures you could post together? Mine are all so many different shades of partridge I was hoping I could figure out what colors I was going to have.
A few more pics from yesterday and today. That camera just keeps jumping in my hands for no reason Chicknfun!!! Ha! Ha! Ha!![]()

It looks like at least one will be similar to FeatherSprings.
Hi Feathersprings,
She is beautiful, yes she looks like a blue partridge. If you are wanting the Standard partridge color and are wanting to use her to get there you just need to breedHi Feathersprings,
Have you sold your Parti-Boys yet? I have one partridge girl named Cinnamuffin which I'd like to get a mate for. She might be a blue partridge because she was from BBS breeding pens? Should I look for a light or dark rooster to encourage good partridge coloring? There were times when I wasn't sure if she would stay partridge..........but I really like how she looks now. I want a breeding pen that gives very distinct partridge coloring offspring -like your baby chicks in pictures you've posted.
Here are pictures of her from chick to recent:
She is standing in the front (right side).
At that awkward grow-out stage probably a month old.
At about 2 or 3 months old.
Cinnamuffin now. She is such a sweety.
So, what do you recommend as a good mate for her? She just started laying eggs but I'm not incubating them because they are fertilized with my splash rooster and I don't know what their babies would look like. Maybe I'll do a test hatch just to see -but I really want a good partridge breeding pen soon.
