Partridge Silkies - Nothing else

Hi! I need some opinions. This boy is 4 months old (hatched 3/20) and I was wondering if this is a proper partridge color or would he be considered a dark blue partridge or a partridge at all? I think he is showing some potential but his undercoat is almost a dark blue splash??? You can see this in the wind blowing his cushion. Is his back a little long, and how about his wings? His posture is getting better almost daily. (it was partly cloudy and the sun and auto flash would take turns - he is pretty dark).

The first picture I left up top is the best stance. I agree - the back looks long right now. However, when his neck fills out with his hackle feathers those will probably cover most of his back and make it "disappear".

Silkie feathers are so hard to see what you really have when you are looking for patterns. What I was looking for and didn't really see in the pictures is the "barring" or stripes that should be on a Partridge. Its hard to describe - but if you smooth out a feather do you see any brown/black/brown stripes on the feathers? He has to have the pattern gene to be called Partridge and that should show on his feathers. His chest looks like it has black and brown feathers, but they seem to be different feathers colored differently - instead of one feather with two colors on it.

I think he may be Blue - I don't think he is splash (that is much lighter with random darker feathers). The under fluff is very light, like Blues get.

I think, for his age, he is starting to look really nice. His wings look a tad loose to me, but that is a common fault in boys. As long as he doesn't have Split Wing or Drop Wing he should do fine.

Thanks ChickNMamma! I always appreciate you helping me! Here are some close ups of feathers. He does have some barring in places (it is hard to see but it is there) - more so in the brown gold feathers than the copper ones. And the wing feathers are "V" tipped in black that have the green beetle sheen which I think is so pretty! I didn't think he had enough brown to be considered the SOP partridge. The blue undercoat does have some brown but not much - there is a lot of splotchiness to it which made me mention the splash.

Good, I can see the barring now.

Give him time - you may find once he gets his "big boy" feathers in he has a lot more brown/red. The SOP actually calls for a black chest - not the brown chest you see on so many Partridge roosters. If I ever decide to show I will get a copy of the SOP. Unfortunately its setup somewhat like tax instructions - you hop all over the book looking for information. That information was from my reading on the Show Silkie thread.

They look exactly like my 3 silkies I never knew they were that kind of silkie! We have another silkie name faith and she's white

Couple of photos of Gidget. She is 9 months old and was broody for the last 6 weeks. (well she and 2 sisters were broody together...I locked them out of the coop yesterday and so far today not one of them attempted to set.)
