I hatched some partridge silkie eggs in March! LOVE these babies!!! Need some sexing help! The breeder had said the more red the more it would be a rooster. Took some pictures today to share and get your opinions. 6 weeks old





this little one has a crossbeak. But I LOVE it anyways Is this a REDish Partridge or another color?

Your breeder is telling you the truth - the more red copper coloring shows on the boys. If the color I am seeing on my monitor is accurate I would say the 2nd and 5th pictures are males due to the red copper coloring. Even though the little golden copper has a lot of color, I think that one may be female and all the others look female to me also. OK that's my guess and I have a 50/50 chance!

I got this guy Saturday to go with my

Paint. Someone said that I could breed a black/silver to a white with partridge in her background and might get a silver partridge. I'm going to try that. I also have a blue partridge (10 months old, and not laying, yet) pullet. Wonder if I can get silver partridge breeding her to him? He's going on 6 months old.

Your little cross beaked one is a red partridge pullet.

Here are updated pictures of my Partridge babies. Just over 8 weeks old.

I think the first two are Roosters, based on color alone.
Not sure on the Copper one.
The rest are a bit different from each other but seem more even in color, Even though some have some copper on their necks, The top two are kinda blochy in color.
