Partridge Silkies - Nothing else

I can never tell before at least 6 months if they will have the right stance and body shape. She's coming along well right now.

I just love how my silkies follow me around. So different than my ameraucana with how they act and react.

That's true, a pullets shape can change quite a bit as they come into lay. I hope she takes on her mothers shape but gets her fathers poofy tail. The mothers tail is pretty drab and isn't as round as I'd like it to be.

At the moment she's showing promise...all being she decides to remain a she :gig

Depending on what she is like come next year, I'll enter her into some young pullet classes to see what judges think of her and if she should go any further.

I have more partridges hatching this Saturday but I'm wanting to sell them pretty much straight away so I'm not tempted to keep anymore partridges...I need to focus on my whites! Damn now I'm even starting to hatch my blues...it's to addictive :barnie

I think I know what you mean about them flowing you around. My silkies will herd around my feet for the fun of it and follow me to see what I'm doing where as other hens we have only really want to know you if there is food on the go!

I need to try and get a video of my roosters. I have two roosters that run up as soon as they see me. Catching them isn't a problem as they will be in my face begging for attention and treats.
