Partridge Silkies - Nothing else

Thanks Beth. Do the hard feathers molt out some, or are they pretty much going to be that way as an adult? I am learning quickly how fast and much they change! Tried to take some pics of him today, but the wind was gusting at 40 mph, and no one was wanting to cooperate! I did get a semi-decent pic of one of the (I believe?) pullets.

My personal experience is that they do not molt out. But it is the judges preference. Please send us pictures. I will tolerate 1 or 2 but that's about it. I have seen some with a lot more than that.

Beth G. :

Hey,

As much as I'd love to go.......It's 830 miles from my house, 14 hours of driving one way, $175.00 for gas one way, and a min of probably $300.00 for hotels. Um well, I'm thinking probably not

Knowing my luck this would be a $1,000 trip by the time I got there showed and looked around b/c I know I can't go without bringing home a new chicky

Maybe next year I can convince a friend of mine in CT to take the trip with me. This way we could probably split the travel expense and share the driving. I'd love to go see you all!!

I mainly stick to the shows in New England and Love the Boston Poultry Show so that is on my agenda for November 2011.

I get up between 3 and 4 and get up during the night. My sleep pattern sucks. But no, you are not the only one up early.... I like it more in the summer than the winter however. I'm up before dawn and in bed by the time it gets dark..... Winter is just around the corner..... Are you going to CR? You should go. We are going to have a blast!!!

Well, you could cram into the room with Jess, Jen, Me and I think another girl if you wanted to come. The more the merrier!!! Cheaper that way too..

that realy nice pullet and if that all hard feather the male then ur fine

Thanks. The male in question has two primaries on both wings that look just like regular chicken feathers, so I don't know about him. He is getting so much red on him, he looks more Buff than Partridge right now. That's him on the left in my avatar. The one on the right is another roo, and I really like him! The avatar pic is from probably almost a month ago.
