Partridge Silkies - Nothing else

Thanks Pennie! I like him and the only thing I see that is a bit lacking is his crest but he's still young and has a lot of pin feathers still coming in.

He is still young yet, but boys don't need as big a crest as the girls anyway.... Makes it easier for them to find the girls!!!! LOL

Yep they don't need a really big crest, I've been told too much of a henny crest on a roo is frowned upon.

Hey nosy!!! What's up?

My little Silkie flock just turned 4 months old today. Can't believe they are that old already! There were two in the hatch, that hatched out Partridge, but then turned solid Blue. I was out talking to them today and the one crowed (now I have 2 crowing). I went in and picked him up, and he is just now starting to get some brownish/reddish color coming in on his wingbow and primaries, and a bit in the hackles. I tried to get a pic of it, but the color is still too faint yet for my camera to pick up. Can't wait to see how he turns out! The other one that turned blue is a pullet, and she is still just blue, very dark blue. Does anyone have any that have hatched like Partridge and then colored in dark Blue? Got any pics of how they turned out?? Patience is not my forte!

I have one that hatched from Mary Robbin's eggs that had chipmonkey stripes. I thought it was a partridge for sure, but started turning solid blue. I banded it so I could tell it apart from the other blues. Some of the wing feathers have a faint pattern, but I expect that that will molt out.

Hey! We went to the Arizona State Fair today, specifically because the poultry was being exhibited. I was surely in chicken-heaven!

Saw many entries and 1st Place ribbons for our friend Sonoran Silkies and even ran into her there. Her silkies are beyond beautiful and she is such a sweetheart.
