Partridge Silkies - Nothing else

Quote:
I have one that hatched from Mary Robbin's eggs that had chipmonkey stripes. I thought it was a partridge for sure, but started turning solid blue. I banded it so I could tell it apart from the other blues. Some of the wing feathers have a faint pattern, but I expect that that will molt out.

The past couple years I have been hearing of a BUNCH of partridge popping out of BBS pens. I had a roo up till this summer him and his 2 brothers (3 chicks all boys I swear I was dooped by that breeder - lol ) was perfect chipmunk striped partridge chicks....Guess what, they all wound up being blue. the one I kept - Falcon he was apparently split partridge because he threw me blue partridge, a full partridge, and various mixes depending on the hen he crossed with.

Racuda, definately keep an eye on that one. Don't know if yours will be a true blue or maybe a weird split like mine was, but keep an eye out and test its breedings to see what you get.

Have found the the lavender gene when mixed into a line has caused the same effect. ie partridge colored chicks that turn a light blue color upon molting.
on an other note

Honestly Brody I wouldn't call them blue partridge, to be partridge they must have the lacing and those girls dont. They look like my blue girl I have, which that first girl is IDENTICAL nearly to my Snickers. I would just consider snickers a gold leaked blue. - though I believe she carries the partridge gene so when bred back to a partridge she will produce laced true blue partridge girls.

Your girls are extremely pretty though! Wonderful type! They only need a good partridge or blue partridge male to make some awesome blue parti babies.

Well they are very young and all my partridge are slow to develope. They are blue partridge, and in a few months you would really see a difference. I have thier parents that are partridge, and the cock that is their father is a Blue Partridge. Thanks

Crossroads will be my last show unless something drastic changes in the way some of the ASBC people handle themselves. As a club, they should not allow conduct that sheds a bad light on the club itself. Steps should be taken and rules set forth. There are a lot of VERY nice people in ASBC but it is getting ruined by a few bad apples.

should i ask if u like dish pm me
