Partridge what?

That is not a partridge rock. Mine are hatchery quality, but side by side they look nothing alike:

That hen isn't a hatchery quality Welsummer, rock or anything. She is closest to a light colored black sexlink, yes they can come that light. Not commonly, but they do. Quick way to tell she isn't one of the other birds listed is obvious; that hen is not partridge. In the game circle she would be referred to as a Brown red, in other poultry circles may or may not be referred to as a brown red but possibly a black with a lot of red/gold leakage.

The black legs come from the black blood in her, all black fowl basically have black legs search it up in any breed you want. You may find a odd one here or there with yellow legs, but generally speaking black fowl have black legs. Mixed with the yellow genetics as well in a sexlink can develop that leg color. EE is an easy guess, one could argue it all day long because EE's do not have a set standard. I view her as a black sexlink, if she isn't a sexlink I'd simply call her a mutt.

All other breeds mentioned except EE carry yellow legs, so if she is any of them mutt or crossbreed would fit her well given that she definitely wouldn't be a pure one hatchery or breeder.

God bless

Not sure that was very nice........what pic are you looking at? I posted 2.

Refer to the pic on page 1, this is the hen in question and she is ver similar to yours......

your welcome its an easier way to compare hope the other user doesnt mind me doing it though...shes young and if she is indeed a rock she has a lot of filling out and growing to do

If that was intended for me, I was observing the pic on page 1. The same one posted above. I compared the bird by memory, by observation to back up memory of other breeds, as well as even looking at BlazeJester's photo. My comment was not intended to be mean, I just tend to have a straight forward/blunt personality at times.

God bless,
Daniel.

ETA: You also mentioned getting her from Murray McMurray isn't that correct? If so, Black Star (Black Sexlink) is the only thing I see that will match her. If she is indeed a partridge rock from McMurray, she is a cross due to black legs.

wow, why is it that EEs always seem to bring on the greatest debate? I can almost always tell when an EE is being discussed because the thread will be more than three pages long! Congrats on your pretty green eggs!
