Partridge what?

This hen is not colored like any hatchery sex link.

For hens:
Black sex links are BLACK with red/gold leakage on the head and breast.
Red sex links have bronze colored feathers, sometimes with white tips or white feathers mixed in.
Golden comets are, of course, gold.

This hen also does not have a white earlobe (Google "brown leghorn"). If she did, she would absolutely be a brown leghorn.

I have black sex links both hatchery and my own hatches and she is not that

black sex link, jut has more red than most, a lot more

if she is from the hatchery, we have to figure she isn't a cross, but many hatchery birds are off. of course sex links are hatchery created to begin with and are crosses. this bird is a cross without doubt.

Are you seeing the 1st pic or the second? the second pic is what I am used to seeing my ee's look like (bodywise). The first one is the hen in question. I do not agree that she is a black sex link.

even on hatchery sexlinks they always come out looking right with blacks they are always black with the gold leakage never the type of coloring she has. again i dont not see any white earlobs at all. with hatchery birds the leg color can be off. have you tried sending a pic of her to the hatchery to see what they say she is. you can even metion all the guesses that we have put in towards her. i still say she looks a lot like a welsummer though and no weres near a sex link.

what hatchery did you get her from?

McMurray....I have got all my birds there and have been pretty pleased.....

I have not seen them on there either......but I also have not gone back today to specifically check either

she very well could be a partridge rock. i mean she still has growing to do and filling out to do but its the closest thing i see them having to her

do you remeber if she looked like this as a chick?
