I have 3 baby chicks and one, who appears to be a runt ( about 1/2 the size of her litter mates), keeps getting poo on her bum. It's not blocking the vent though but I'd like to get it off anyway, but soaking in warm water and baby shampoo isn't working to get it off. The poo is matted in her fluff to the side of her vent. Should I try to cut it off? And is she having this problem because she is a runt and may have developmental problems? She eats and drinks well and is active, but she's not as clear eyed as the other chicks and her poo is not as solid as the other girls. I've been giving her vitamins and hard boiled eggs in addition to chick feed and try to get it 90 degrees in there. She's 10 days old. Thank you!
