Hello everyone,

I am urgently in need of an advice for one of my Polish chicks.
I got it somedays ago and it developed pasty butt due to stress of the trip. I cleaned it up, but it had another poop sticked on it in the other night, which was super easy to clean as it probably just happeed to stick. I cleaned with lukewarm water and olive oil, used gloves as I handled it.
It had good food drive but today i noticed he is a bit more lethargic and droppy, so I checked his vent again and saw that it is still a bit out but also has a red dot coming in and out and its been crying a lot.

Its stomach was empty in the morning so I gave it some live mealworms which it happily played with and ate, but after the 3rd worm he started fall sleep with the worm in its beak. Therefore I am very worried about its health.

After 3 hours I attempted to feed it again but this is time it ignored the worms, and mostly drank electrolytes water.

I am very new to this breed, any advices will be appreciated 🥺

Welcome To BYC

Can you post photos of your brooder setup and all the chicks?

What is the temperature of your brooder on the warm and cool sides?

Is this chick eating normal chick starter? Do you have grit available (crushed granite)?

You can offer the chick starter dry or made into a mushy wet feed.
See that the chick is drinking well.

Apply a little coconut oil or vaseline to the vent to help prevent the poop from sticking so badly.

If you do clean up the chick, be very gentle and dry the chick well so she doesn't get chilled.

Unfortunately things took a very quick turn and she passed away in my palm. She was not meant to stay with me as I was taking her to the farm but we had issues there so i had to take them back to my apartment. Ofc, I dont have a brooder and I could only have it built if i ordered some weeks ago which takes time, and its nearly impossible to build one myself in a metropolis…
I am keeping them in a very warm room, 30C stabile and also added heating pad. I bought the most expensive and highest quality chick starter feed and fed hard boiled eggs everyday. Her siblings are bigger and older, they dont have any issues right now although this angel and middle sized chick got super upset after the unintentional stressful trips.

Thank you for the support though

I'm sorry the little one didn't make it.

It's good to hear all the older ones are doing just fine though.
