Pasty butt help! Only 1 of the 4 chicks

No, she seems totally fine. She walks fine, eats, drinks, sleeps, there are no other issues. I can’t see anything wrong with the vent. It isn’t swollen or red. She does seem to get really stressed though when I clean it, so I am nervous about that.

Probably feels raw and inflamed when you clean it, I think.

But you are doing so much good and noticing a lot already. Thumbs up!

I'm having that issue as well. I had one chick who didn't have a single instance of pasty butt- perfect clean poops every time, one who sporadically had it the first 4 days and my favorite little girl who seems to have it every day. I laugh when I clean it off though because she literally wiggles her butt like a cat about to pounce and I know she's going to fire away!!

I think it has to do with how hearty the bird is. All we can do is make sure they are eating, drinking, warm enough, and soak it off when it happens. I put a vitamin drench in their water as well, since she was off her feed and I want to make sure she gets it back.

We had a bully on the bus, when I was a kid, that would steal everyone's candy. One day I put some Feenamints in a Chiclets gum box. He made me hand them over and he chewed the whole box. Needless to say, he had to get his mom to bring him some clean pants when we finally made it to school.

There should be a chicken soup for the soul buck on bullies getting bad endings like this. It would be totally awesome! XD
