To stick with a breed...you've got to...I don't know...develop a "bug" that makes you WANT to breed them. It's hard to explain. Something about the specific breed that just JUMPS out at you.

OH NO my poor hubby is in such big trouble I have the EVERYTHING bug! I love every chicken there is!

I'm with you, Hangin'!
I couldn't pick just one and ended up with buff orps, welsummers, gold and silver laced wyandottes, EEs, silkies, buff polish, mille fleur d'uccles, and a silver sebright. I love having a mottled herd out there!

But now I want a pencilled wyandotte...

I have two bantam penciled rock pullets. They are very pretty too!

I love the way wyandottes LOOK, but I have heard too much about some of them being aggressive -- so I'm staying away. The rocks seem to have a better reputation so far as personality goes.

They are so lovely! What sort of personalities do they have? My wyandottes are fun, but not so friendly. They generally have "things to do" and can't be bothered with me.

Will you be hatching any come spring? The pencilled pattern is now on my sort aquisition list. I'm in Murfreesboro, so I'm just a hop away from you.

Thanks for the compliment!

I can't say that these girls have really developed much personality yet. I've only had them a few weeks, and they're still getting to know me. And I've only got girls, so no breeding!

You might want to contact Bob Higgs, in Lyles (he's about 30 min west of Nashville). I got these birds from him. If you're interested, send me an email and I'll send you his contact info.
