Can pau d'arco herb be used in nesting boxes along with other herbs?

IMO, it's best to save the herbs for when you cook the chickens..or their eggs.
I use only straw in the nests.

I'm way past straw. I haven't ust it in over a year. I live in the PNW and it's pretty wet here in the cooler months. So straw gets damp and breeds all sorts of bugs as mold. I use pine shavings with a hand full of dried herbs mixed in. Mites and lice won't touch it and the hens adore it. My coop floor is vinyl so its easy to clean each morning with a 14 Inch taping knife. It's a smaller coop too so not much work with my smaller flock.
