Paver Gravel as grit?

So I happened upon a supply of paver gravel. I looked up that it is mostly limestone. Any chance this could be used as a substitute for a source of grit?

Since I don't know your location... Are you looking to use it as soluble grit (such as oyster shell) or insoluble grit (such as granite)? Limestone can replace soluble grit, as it contains calcium. It is not an ideal replacement for granite, due to calcium and overall hardness.

As a calcium supplement. So soluble.

Should be fine to use. Keep an eye on the birds to make sure they're actually consuming it, as some people have mentioned that their chickens didn't like one form of calcium or another.
