Trying to figure out if this hen is a PBR or Dominque.... Any thoughts???
Approx age is 22wks

Probably would get a DQ for either the Dominique or the Barred Rock. The Dom has a rose comb, while this bird has a single comb. The barring is spotty, almost cuckoo in design, rather than being barred. The legs of either the Dom or the BR must be yellow. I know photography on here is really hard, at least for me it is. But if those legs are as white in real life as they are in the photo, that wouldn't be acceptable in either breed.

Granted, after a BR or a Dom hen is in full lay, the legs do drain of their yellow coloration as she is making yellow egg yolks. But at 22 weeks, her legs should be bright yellow still.

We would need to see her posing naturally. Standing in a natural position to judge her type, shape, tail, back line and bottom line to say much more.

There are chickens called Cuckoo Marans. They are cuckoo in feather and have white legs and a single comb. Again, without seeing some better glamour shots, it would be difficult to say.

Where was she bred or from where did you get her?

We plan to attempt some better pictures today. We ordered a batch of pullets from McMurray. My daughter wants to enter some in the local county fair, however we have to know what they before we can do that. She is a nice looking hen, pretty good size. She still doesn't like to be held, but we hold them all anyways

Well, pure bred, show quality, or birds bred to the Breed Standard set for them simply don't come from hatcheries. These show birds come from breed preservationist, fanciers, hobbyists and breeders dedicated to the breed.

With that said, you could probably enter her as a Barred Plymouth Rock at a youth event as a county fair. Those fairs aren't usually sanction oriented. They normally are all about the youth learning to hold and exhibit the bird. For all intents and purposes, it is all about the youth being "judged", if you understand. They aren't about DQing the bird, per se.

But, do find out more details about what is expected in the bird. I do know of county youth exhibitions that are sanctioned or hold to the breed standards of the American Poultry Association. Here is a photo or two or our pure bred Barred Rocks. You can see there is a HUGE difference in a breeder quality show bird and what one would ever get out of a hatchery where the birds are not selectively mated. Hatcheries use mass production to sell healthy, inexpensive birds. Hope this helps.

Yes. Any information is greatly appreciated. Our birds are firstly just a backyard learning project. Our local fair does judge the youth more than the bird, however the better birds are the ones that will place higher. My daughter is not overly interested in showing the chickens though. We have them more for eggs than any other reason. She was trying to pick some of the better ones to enter in the local fair. We also will be separating out some of our least favorite to sell locally. So any information we get is greatly appreciated! Thank you so much for your input and time. This has been a fun learning experience to date.

I will try to get better pictures later today. I have one of the bottom of her feet. They have a pinkish tint to them. My photo is horrible. The sun was setting and it was taken with my phone. My daughter is gonna try to get some better ones with her camera today. She was purchased as part of the Rainbow Layers pack from mcmurray and this is just a 4-H learning project. We mostly want their eggs. My daughter is not overly interested in showing the birds, but we wanted to enter some of the better ones in the local county fair and we also want to sell off some of our least favorite. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thank you all for your time. This has been a fun learning experience to date.

Again I want to apologize for the picture quality. These were taken with my phone last night with the sun very low on horizon. In person, her legs appear pinkish in color. They are deff not yellow at all. The bottom of her feet are more pink. My daughter is actually pretty tan right now, due to being at the beach all the time and her hand appears washed out in this same photo.
I will deff try to get some better pics and repost.
