Pea Eggs Scheduled to Hatch?

I set 4 pea eggs last night with turkey and guinea eggs. And the wait begins. In the processing of shopping for bottles of wine.

So your going to give it another try. You know I was thinking about getting some more eggs after these hatch/or not hatch. It's addicting to see if next time things would be better. No electricity outage. Big thing is I only wanted 3 male peas for their beauty. What would I do with all the baby peachicks? Good luck will be waiting with you.

Yea, I'm gonna give it another try. I'm practicing for next year. You could always sells your extras. I have had several people stop by wanting peas but I never had any to sell. With my luck, I may hatch 10 peas and not be able to sell them. :(

One of the girls hatched another egg on last night, so that makes it 5 pea eggs. I have 4 eggs under 1 hen (chicken) and 3 eggs under another hen (chicken). The first hen is not scheduled to hatch her eggs for another 3 weeks. The other hen should hatch her eggs any day now. I candled and it appears that something is in there but I"m not a good candler. :/

And of course, I picked up on 2 more bottles of wine. It's a must have when waiting for peas to hatch. :lau

And any suggestions on great Moscato wines would be greatly appreciated. :gig

I suppose you are right, but would have to ask hubby to build another pen. He's such a good ol boy, but I've really ask a lot from him since I had to retire. Everything that needed to be fixed in the house the last 15 years bothers you more when you see it all the time. He gets home and I have a mile long honey do list. I've had him almost 38 years sure hate for him to quit coming home now, ha, ha.
This is aweful fun though.
I like White Zinfandel the best. I have tons of concord grapevines have thought about trying to make a batch of homemade wine for years. I might just have to do that and invite all you to come sample, ha.
I candled my eggs last night. I sure wish I had more experience. My eggs are due on the 28th that were picked up from the hatchery and the electricity went off 2nd night. The eggs on one side, 3 of them are almost completely filled with peachick and all three are moving. Very little egg yolk looks to be left on the bottom. They have 8 days left if it takes 28 days. I'm concerned now if I should quit turning earlier on them. I read a post somewhere on here where a fellow said his hatched in 24 days. Then 2 look what I would expect, by hatching chicken eggs. One was a complete dud. 2 others aren't progressing but yet still look to have red veins, see no movement at all on them so suspect they just aren't going anywhere but will leave them in incubator.
I might have to start on the wine today. Maybe I better quit hatching peas or I might become a wine-o.

kuntrygirl,,glad your seeking out ways to relax. Peahatching can be nerve racking at times,,,never tried the Muscato wines, and I won't drink any "dry" wines at all,,I do have a passion for good ole concord wine,,aside from the merlots. Well believe it or not the cameo eggs from Ga arrived today,no air sacks broken and remarkably looked good.My Brinsea 190 Ova Easy is now STUFFED to the gills full of eggs,,75 total now,,I will have 27 all due to pop around July 16th,,but I'm sure some will be pitched out before then. The only extra space I have for pea eggs is now inside the wine cooler I bought and my next group to hatch is June 26th,,and that will only free up room for about 8 more eggs to be added.Good thing the girls slowed down a bit.We did hatch out 1 BSSP chick this morning,,Charcoal and other BSSP eggs are thinking about it,,no pip yet,,they're due date isn't until tomorrow anyway,
And yes ZAZ,,,I will get a pic for you later,,stay tuned!!

Did you say sample???????????? :drool I am so there ! :lau

As far as candling the eggs, I'm in the same boat as you. I have NO experience. Most of the time, I really don't think that I know what I'm doing. :/

8 days left?! :weee Oh THIS is exciting. I need to get ANOTHER bottle of wine in celebration of YOUR hatch in 8 weeks. :gig

Well if you like Concord wine I just may have to try my hand at making wine. My cousin made some once. It was the best wine or alcohol I ever tasted. I was headed to 2nd shift job seen him in his yard stopped just to say hi.. He gave me a glass to try. It had a real kick. I was driving when the buzz hit me. I turned around and went back home and called in sick. that was a good 30 years ago and he never fails to bring it up to people to this day. My hubby said he married me because I was the cheapist drunk around.

Yes, after this last pea hatch, I darn near lost it!!!! It is now a requirement for me to relax and the wines will do it. :lau

Glad to hear that your eggs made it safe. :thumbsup

Did you say that you have 75 eggs ???????????????????????????? :th :th :th :th

You don't need a bottle of wine with 75 eggs, you need a CASE of wine !!!! :lau

Oh, this is getting better and better. You have GOT to keep us updated on all of these hatches. I can't wait. Hey, I think in honor of your hatching AND Lil Zoo's, I have to get 2 bottles of wine now. :gig Anyone else hatching soon? :lau

Yes, I have 75 pea eggs in my incubator now,,largest group was 21 eggs put in last night and the 6 cameo eggs that came in the mail today and already baking and rolling,I normally put eggs in about every 4-5 days,,but when this bunch of 27 hatches,,they will need to be zip tied immediatedly so I know who is who
