Hey hey my compadres!

I was freezer cleaning and found 3 big freezer bags of sliced peaches that I need to use up!

How can I make easy peach butter? I "think" they are peeled but I cant remember if I peeled them or not....

I know the basic idea, but I guess what I really want to know is, do the peels HAVE to go?

If I was lazy and didn't peel them before freezing them its going to be a PITA to get the peels out of that mess!

If it goes in the crock pot does that make it a hot mess?

I just cooked them and purred it all. I think I cooked it for like 24 hours though.

I have never peeled mine. I just kind of chop them up in hunks and cook until squishy enough for me to run my hand blender through everything then season it and continue cooking until it is so thick I can stand a spoon up in it...

Good stuff!

I used peeled frozen peaches to make peach butter in my crockpot.
Easy-peasy - just peaches, sugar and some ginger - cooked on Low overnight, then took off the lid to let it cook down some.
I stored it in the freezer and just used up the last jar.

When I froze unpeeled peaches they collapsed into mush when I thawed them.
I imagine I could have scraped the fruit out of that mess before cooking.
If not, then how would you get the peels out of the finished peach butter?

I am sure it would be smoother spread with the peel off. If you can I would. If you can't make sure you do next time if you are gonna use it for a fruit butter.
