Peach Silver Pied Peacock

Even his median coverts (wrist of wing) are pigmented. This is akin to one of the Japanese Harlequin peacocks -all white green peafowl hybrids with coloured ocelli, median coverts and sometimes facial stripe and forehead/crest. But this is better because this bird is the hue of the inside of a pink seashell. I can't wait to see what happens with him when you put him on supplements to bump his colour. He may well be iridescent mother of pearl if maintained on a supplemented diet through to his next moult.

This guy makes me want to keep breeding them.......now . but down to 11 birds ......really sold the male peach silver pied 2010 chick ,because didn't think i would be here to see his colors with full train.

See there? Yet another reason to keep on going, Deerman!!!

Actually, leucism and albinism are two completely different things- albinism occurs when the body does not produce a pigment (I think typically melanin?). Leucism occurs when the body produces all the right pigments, but fails to deposit the pigment onto the feathers- the pigment cells fail to migrate from the neural crest during development. It's super fascinating to me

In other news, Deerman that is one good looking bird! I hope we will be getting pictures of his train this spring! I bet he's going to be just GORGEOUS

Hope you can find a few females if you're looking for them!
