Peachick.... is this another boy and girl?

Here are my brand new sebbie babies. I think they are a boy and girl.

Anyone else out there been breeding sebbies long and have a better educated guess?

I was asking about it before and I was told the females are darker than the males and often the males are all yellow. I don't know if this is correct so I will be watching this thread to glean info for myself as well.

They are so very sweet looking. I hope mine do well. Thanks to you.

a boy and a girl is a good guess. But I have to admit I have lost my confidance in sexing these guys. Girls dont always hatch out darker. One example is....
a few years ago Melanie from Fluff n Stuff, bought what seemed to be a dark baby and a lighter baby sebastopol, assuming they were a pair.... both turned out to be hens!! (and lucky me they now live with me!)! I have seen photos of these girls when they were baibies on Melanies web site, and i would have thought they were male and female too.

Another example.....
I have 4 babies here now about 6 weeks old and adult down feathers are starting to come in on them. All 4 babies hatched out the same color, but on 2 babies the down is coming in slightly dark on their back, just above their tail. So Im wondering if they will be hens.

So, the moral of the story is...... not all hens hatch out dark.

(BTW.... I hatched out blue and grey sebastopol babies last weekend!!)

As they get older is there any way to tell the sex or pretty much wait to see if they lay eggs...

Congrats on the new babies!

I'm dying for some and Peachick is within driving distance from me, too...it is so tempting, but we just don't have the time/energy/money/space for any more critters right now!! However, if none of the preceding factors were an issue I'd be knocking on Peachick's door!!
