Peachick questions

So I just hatched out my first, and only, peachick this year and I have a few concerns about it.

1. Can I raise only one peachick by itself? I have it in the brooder by itself and it seems lonely, peeping all the time.

2. I noticed that it took awhile for it to dry, and in some spots it didn’t get that fluffy look. It’s like something sticky dried to it. Is this normal, should I bath it?

3. When looking at its wings i noticed that they look bare in some spots. Some wing feathers looked full while others looked like nothing was on them.

4. Lastly, it came from a group of eggs I bought from @Kedreeva from her purple pen. Any idea what pattern it is? I’m hoping it’s a purple but there’s a chance it could be white or pied to.

You'd do best to get a baby chicken/turkey to put in with it for a while. A solo chick will scream and be very lonely and need LOTS of attention from you.

Out of my pen, it's likely a purple BS split pied. It looks like the feather sheaths just haven't shed off on the wing feathers yet. You can rub them gently to flake off the outer covering, or just wait and the chick will do it on its own.

The wings have filled out now and it’s doing good. We’re going to get at least one more peachick to keep company. She said just one, but who could resist a little pea when they’re climbing all over you looking all cute and fluffy.

I'd do it quick if you're going to, they bond fast and it's harder to get them to not constantly scream for attention from YOU if they've been otherwise alone

We’ve been looking and no one in our area has any. Probably going to pick a few up from Craig Hopkins this coming week. We have other chicks that’ll accompany “her” til we get more peas.

Our first hatch was a single and lived in the living room for the first week getting loved on by my wife and myself. Now five weeks later and after it has had five chicks with it since the following week it still wants our attention. Its favorite game is 'hop on pop'. And flies back and forth between mom and dad.

We would love it if it was that friendly with us. We’ve never had peachicks before only adults so we’re looking forward to making some very friendly pets. I was hoping to pick up a few this weekend but it seems no one has anything in our area that’s even close to the same age. 4-7 week olds would probably torment a 1 week old. Anybody have chicks? I’d be willing to ship if I could get only 2-3.

You can not ship only 2 or 3 chicks unless they are older. They need the body heat of others to keep warm for the entire trip. Do not make a male chick imprinted it leads to aggression once it matures and will start attacking you.

Ya i know, but we don’t know if it’s male or female yet. I’m kinda hoping male but at the same time I’m hoping female. That’s also why we’re hurrying to get a companion so we don’t have a male that becomes aggressive.

Dang I was hoping 2-3 could be shipped. I was really hoping to get some genetics from @KsKingBee. Heard nothing but great stuff about Spring Creek Peafowl. Maybe if I can find a friend who’d be interested in getting some we could meet the minimum to ship.
