Peachick spraddle leg

That is not just twisted tibia, I dealt with twisted tibia in 5 chicks last year, none had any open sores like that. There is definitely something else going on there, perhaps a traumatic injury of some kind? Twisted tibia can be a result of an injury or a result of abnormal cartilage growth in the hock caused by growth and weight gain that is too rapid. It also does not look like perosis (slipped tendon) usually those legs are dragging behind the chick not held out in front. I would try to sling the chick as Kathy suggested to get the weight off that leg and use triple antibiotic ointment and I would also think about an oral antibiotic to keep any infection from invading the joint, once the wound is healed you can maybe get a better handle on the underlying issues.

I don't know a lot about perosis but it could be, when he hatched his legs looks terrible, i don't know how to describe how bad it was, his legs was up on his back and it was like he is holding his wings with his legs!! I haven't seen anything like this before, but now he is much better, i will put it on a sling tomorrow and i wish he will get better.

So you are saying it hatched with open wound on hock?
Glad he is getting better.

I think his leg was rubbed on the floor in the incubator as Kathy said, i got some antibiotic ointment today hope it will work.

I've seen chicks get it even on towels. The two day old chick of mine that was malpostioned, had the swollen belly and slipped tendon was starting to get a sore on it's hock.
