VetRx is like Vicks Vapo-rub, a product to soothe symptoms.

To treat respiratory disease symptoms in chickens, Tylosin, a good antibiotic effective on these symptoms, is necessary.

However, even though you've treated the chickens with this antibiotic, and they recover from the symptoms, it does not cure the virus that causes it. That microbe is in your chickens' cells for good.

Thanks for all your suggestions! We ended up calling a vet just out of curiosity, it turns out that they have coccidiosis. The medicine comes in tomorrow, hopefully that will do the trick!

Yep, cocci stresses the bird bringing it down, and then the respiratory infection begins.
