Hi I'm getting my first pair of peacocks in a few days. I would love some advice on how to care for them. They will be going into a large pen with bantams. We are on 50 acres and I would love to have them free range if possible.

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! Congratulations on getting your new peacocks :celebrate I'm afarid I've not kept peas before so please do drop by the peacock section of the forum. Here is the link ~ https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/51/peafowl

They are beutiful birds, we used have some down at the farm where I keep the horse and they were so lovely to look at. Have you stopped by the learning centre? There is a great section on others fowl including peas. Here is the link ~ https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/other-backyard-poultry-ducks-quail-turkeys-geese-etc

Wishing you the very best of luck with your new peas in the future.

Enjoy BYC :frow

glad you have joined us.

I have no experience with peacocks, but question whether the bantams will be safe in the same quarters. It seems from a past thread that most segregate them from their chickens.

Please do post the question under Peafowl - and include the issue of how to deal with mixing them in with your bantams.

Hi thanks everyone for your comments. I will repost in the peacock section
