Peacock got spooked and is gone!

My peacock has been spooked and scared away from his home. Tree cutters came in this morning and started trimming trees near power lines and he got spooked and took off. We found him out in the field under some trees but he wouldn't come out. The tree cutters moved on to the neighbor's house. Whose yard is full of trees that need trimmed, right where Alexander was hiding. Now I can't find him! What do I do? How do you catch yours when they go on the lam?

try and get a tape recorder and tape his friends noise making. If he is the only peafowl you have, try and get some off the internet. Play it while you look for him and see if he calls back.. Hope he finds his way home.

He's back! YAY!!! He and his mate are now locked securely up in their pen. DH had removed the lock and hasp to put in a new one and had tied it shut with rope until he could get to it. They untied it and he took off when the something that has now eaten all of my ducks showed up. I found lots of pea feathers and it looks like there was one heck of a struggle. Thankfully, they're both alright. My last duck got eaten last night, though.

( I'm not surprised, they never would go into a coop or pen that we made them. Poor things.
