Peacock limping with swollen leg joint

I better phone the vet tomorrow and see if they can have a look at him. I found something called meloxicam oral suspension USP in the cow medicine drawer. Would it be the same as Loxicam?
You could use Meloxicam. Which one do you have? Is it the 1.5 mg/ml or the 0.5 mg/ml?

It’s 15mg/ml. It’s for cattle. My dad gave him more dexamethasone and he said the vet told him not to give the two drugs together. My dad also thinks the bird doesn’t need to see the vet. I don’t know what to do. If he’s not showing improvement Monday, I’ll take him to the vet then.

She may have missed the '.' between the 1 and 5. However if it is for cattle it very well could be much higher dose.

Birds leg bones heal very quick, if not a compound break it can heal in about two or three weeks. I have casted two peahens legs and if it is not badly broken I would not put her through it. He might only be sprained, it is common for birds to sprain a leg joint. I would catch him and inspect the leg closely before spending a lot of money at the vet. I guess I somewhat side with dad.
