I made a video of some stuff I filmed earlier this year. My old computer wouldn't let me edit the clips but this new one lets me so I quickly threw together this video of Alto displaying and a surprise visit from Peep.

Here is the video:

Haha yeah that music video was done last year. It was fun and I did get a good grade on it.

Yeah Peep is my silly birdie!

Beautiful video. Stunning birds ! Alea are the little white bugs going in out of Alto's feathers mites or something? At about 1;32 into the video?

Good eye Destinduck.
Mini if you do not want to catch and treat you can make a dust bath out of sand, ashes ,peat moss and mix some seven dust with it and let them dust themselves naturally, should get rid of the mites.

Zazouse makes a good recommendation, however, the things make my skin crawl so bad thinking about the irritation they may have, I have to do a pour on Ivermectin treatment whenever I see them. Luckiy, knock on wood, I have not seen any since I started the regular pour on Ivermectin treatment. Another lesson learned from deerman.

Ivermectin poor on is only good for 30 days or less, so you will have to retreat ever month, but dust bathing is the natural way to get rid of them, my birds free range and always chose new dirt to dust bath in, of course they leave craters all over the place but they don't have any mites.
I process 100's of birds every year and i have never found mites on any of them .
I only suggested 7 dust mixture because they are penned and may not have alot of place to move to new ground to dust bathing.

Yeah I hate creepy crawlys on any birdsI knew the 5% sevin dust works great cause I used it in my duck pen before will no ill effects.I did it for fire ants though. I think If I saw that I would have to hold him and dust him and the other birds myself with sevin dust right then and there. Also the whole area as well. I thought ivermectin was a wormer. Not a external parasite cleaner mites fleas and ticks. Also AugeredIn how much of this pour on ivermectin do you use and how often?

Okay so it is kinda like them having fleas? Hmm well their pen is fairly big and they dust bathe all over the pen and not just in one area so how do I get them to dust bathe in the area with sevin dust? Can I get sevin dust at like Tractor Supply Co. or maybe the feed store?

Dig a hole and fill it with the mixture, peas are noise and thell be all over that pile of dirt and then you will find them in the mixture.
I dug a large whole the other day with my backhoe and them silly peas were jumping in and out of it and laying up on the hills of dirt like they were royalty.
Walmart or any hardware store like home depot would be the cheapest place to get , tractor su[pply probly has it but it most likely cost more
