My spelling is so bad, sorry! I meant to say " my male peacock keeps on acting funny around my chickens. He keeps on fluffing up his feathers and strutts around. Could a peacock and a chicken even mate?

My son messed with my incubator lost everything. I will try it again after turkey season when I let them back out in the field

One of the things that got me interested in poultry was an encounter with a wild Peacock Turkey cross. I was running with a flock of wild turkeys and it looked like a perfect blue peacock head on a hen turkey's body. It was also not afraid of me so it let me get very close and check him out. After much research on the topic i found out it was possible to get a viable offspring from a turkey and peacock it was however highly unlikely. What i saw was more likely a 4-6 month old Peacock running with wild turkeys which is very common. Chicken peacock crosses are rare but have been documented Guinea's cross fairly easily with peacocks and chickens. Turkey's are very unlikely to make it to term. I don't think there are any recorded cases of peacock turkey hybrids surviving to adult hood.

Hope this helps.

It's crazy about the imprinting to humans because my two toms will be trying to woo my two hens until I step in the pen then all attention goes on me... I thought it was crazy.

You say your hen turkey had fertilized eggs, BUT, has any actually hatched..??

this is the question. As either of the two Cock birds have most probably tried, but comparability will be defined if there is any successful hatching with healthy living chicks being the end result.
So, seeing as this thread is all about the possibility of breeding a hen turkey with a cock bird of a different species I'm sure we'd all
like to see this answered. please.
