Peafowl for 2013

Beautiful babies everyone!!!! :love

I think my peas are on their 4th cycle of eggs. I'm ready for them to STOP LAYING EGGS !!!!!!!!! :barnie I have had enough eggs for the year. The 2 girls haven't laid a lot of eggs but it's a lot for me when you have limited room. I think they have layed only 26 eggs total but that is plenty for me at my place. :/

When will it stop!!!!?????? Anyone know when peas stop laying eggs???????? :hit

TELL THEM TO STOP!!! NO MORE EGGS !!!!!!!!!! :hit

My peacock has been dropping tail feathers like crazy this week, one hen stopped laying 7 days ago and my blue hasn't laid in 4 days, so I think my breeding season is over. Sure hope I can get some more chicks to hatch from my last 9 eggs. I have 8-9 chicks already spoken for if I can only get them to hatch!! Only have two peachicks in the brooder now.

Where in texas are you located, mine have stopped laying also but i still have some one year olds that might lay still but they won't be fertil cause my oldest males has lost his trian now.

I'm located in Ponder, north of Ft worth, in the country slightly west of I35 between Ft worth and Denton. I didn't check the breeding pen at dark last night because I wasn't expecting any eggs, then found an egg this morning in the blue hens nest, I guess she isn't done after all. Will it be fertile with my peacock already dropping his tail? Can peafowl store sperm as long as chicken hens can (2 weeks)???

I put 16 eggs under hens yesterday and have ten ready to go in the incubator. Many of the eggs are old, so I doubt many will hatch, but time will tell.

Lockdown was yesterday for me. Out of the 4 pea eggs, 3 are fertile, so that's good. Looks like all of the guinea eggs are fertile. As if I need more guineas. :/

My boys are losing their tails.

Do you have a pic of one of your males after he has lost his train? I would love to see what that looks like, so I will know.

Thanks
