Well, My New 1.5 Year old Spalding BS Pea hen had laid 6 Eggs which I put in the incubator, they all were fertile but I had mess up on the last day as they were starting to pip as I was out longer then I had planned and the Humidity Dropped real low, Lost them all.
She then laid 3 more eggs which are in the bator now and due in a couple weeks,
I went on vacation for a week and when I left there was one egg up on a Ledge in the coop, I left it there, See now has been sitting on it for a couple of day's, I am unsure how many are under her, As there was only one there when I left and I was only gone for 8 days.
Guess well see what happens, My Only male that is of breeding age lost all of his feathers, HE started dropping them about two weeks ago and now has none.
Lock down will be tomorrow. I'm not sure about these pea eggs. I have had temp changes almost every day and it was difficult to keep the humidity above 40. On yesterday, we had a power outage for about an hour. I"m not expecting any to hatch, so I won't be disappointed. We'll see what happens.
Now have my second chick hatching (#3 late egg) from my last 11 eggs laid. I put all of the last 11 eggs straight into incubator except for two that were laid while I was out of town, those two were stored at 62 degrees for two days. I've removed two for being clears, the others all seam to be developing. I'm going to see if I get better hatch rate putting straight into bator instead of saving to put in as groups once weekly. #4 is two days behind #3, then skip 2-4 days between each egg. But the good new is my girls are finally through. No eggs laid in a solid week now.
Better cross your fingers i have a 2 year old that layed 2 clutches, and stopped over a month ago, saw he mating more than once the week and now she is hunting a place to lay.. Pea eggs taist good if you are tired of hatching small cluthes
