Peafowl for 2013

I lost three of the four that were due this week, but still have two due on the 10th and one or two due on the 20th. One crazy hen is still laying, but she's doing it from the perch, so I probably won't set any more.

One of the speakers at last yrs or the yr befores' guinea fowl extravaganza told us that turning the eggs (of guineas at least) was optional after 13 days.

Really, I will have to try this on guineas and peas next year.
Also if any of you want me to try something you think might make a difference in hatching wee peas let me know, I will have eggs coming out my gazoo next season, my 14 month olds also started laying this year so i will have more eggs than i can sell i am sure.

I think laying season is OVER!!!! YEA!!!!!!!! No eggs in weeks and I am sooooooo happy. The last 5 eggs that I had under 2 broodys (chicken and duck) don't even ask, have been narrowed down to 2. 3 of the eggs were not fertile. Thank goodness. Now it's a waiting game. Not looking forward to next year. I plan on buying another incubator. Too many different birds laying eggs around here.

I had a couple year olds lay a clutch of eggs each and stop so mine is over also

enough for me.
I would be happy to start over with babies every year, I love watching babies grow up.. And I got to tell ya these babies I have raised from hatch are such a joy even if they get under foot ,4-wheeler and tractors when I am on one.. Patch is the worse, I look to make sure he is no where around before I get on the tractor .. next thing I know he is running after me while I am driving away ands if I stop he will get under it, I am trying not to kill him but he is making it hard.. he even dogs my DH when he is working on something like the tiller
